New Projects Starting Soon!!
Following a successful project managed through the Volunteer Centres Devon called Count Me In, the Devon Consortium was asked to assign funding which Devon County Council has received from Central Government.
It was agreed by members of the Consortium and Devon County Council that this funding will be allocated to the following areas of work:- Volunteering Support Services, Voluntary and Community Sector Representation, Service User Engagement, Community Hubs and Development of the 3rd Sector.
All five of these Stronger Communities programmes were openly tendered and following evaluation of applications received by independent panel the project areas were awarded to the following:
The Community Council of Devon in partnership with Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI) and Devon Association of Community Buildings (DACB) – Community Hubs Project
Teignbridge CVS (on behalf of DACVS) - Developing the Third Sector
Living Options Devon - Service User Engagement
TTVS (on behalf of DACVS) - VCS Representation
Exeter CVS (on behalf of DACVS) - Volunteering Support Services
All projects will commence in April 2010. Further details to be released shortly.
