Voluntary and community groups are being invited to attend one or both event/s.
- The Rural Health and Wellbeing Strategy can be accessed at www.devonpct.nhs.uk/default.asp?pg=307. If you are unable to attend the consultation, you can feedback a response on line. If you are able to attend, I will send you a hard copy of the main part of the document shortly.
- The presentation on 21st July will be by Ian Tearle, Head of Health Policy, Public Health Directorate, NHS Devon. It will last about 30 minutes, and the rest of the time is for questions/discussion.
- The focus group is to be led by eskogen consultant, Wendy Hancock. It is a follow-up to the recent major survey of the community and voluntary sector. If you didn’t see the survey and want to know what it was about, its questions can be accessed at www.pfa-research.com/ccd. eskogen say that the focus group will be asked to talk particularly about two areas: ‘governance and forward-planning’ and ‘representation’.
- The ‘governance and forward-planning’ part will probably cover: effectiveness of management committees and trustee boards (issues, hopes, fears, training needs, etc), and the importance and difficulties of forward planning. The ‘representation’ part will probably cover: how well are the views of voluntary and community organisations represented in strategic decision-making (e.g. at district and county level), and how can this be improved?
